Now that I am the proud owner of a cable that links my camera to the rest of the world, I can share some pics!


Our final night in Koh Lak, miss ya Mom!

Here was my little world in Karon Beach, the morning I woke up to visit The Beach in Koh Phi Phi.


Just me and the dog up at 6am




I took a 2hr ferry out to the island. Then it was calm...






This is what I was waiting for. All to myself! If you ignore all the tourists behind me, but I found my own little spot on the beach and pretended it was just mine. It was a happy day.

    It was either peaceful or you've somehow Photoshopped all the tourists out of the pix. Amazing beaches and rock formations. Remember relaxing????

A Lifetime in 3 Days

So, my last post was a little all over the place I realize. But that is sort of how everything has been in the last 3 days of being in Bangkok. My head is spinning and I feel like I have lived a lifetime here..its amazing! Mom and I started 3 days ago a little intimdated of our surroundings. We are staying in the most amaaaaazing hotel and it felt like a safe little nook. But once we walked out the door I just wanted to do and see everything, even on 3 hours of sleep. We went to the Emerald Temple and the Reclining Buddah. Everywhere we went just got better and better and I had to take more and more artsy photos (I am a professional photog. in my mind). We are getting everywhere using the train and river boats. They were suprisingly easy and after I took a breath I realized I could get us anywhere with a map in hand. Belize----> Guatemala

The last few days of Belize have been full of sharks, rain, chicken bus rides, rain, .25 tostadas and um...oh ya, rain. Mike and I have become weather gurus and can now tell you when its going to rain, how hard the rain will be, what the clouds are saying. We are one with nature. We are ready for nature in Guatemala to be a little friendlier and not constantly dumping water on us. We made the best out of it, for sure. Our last day in Caye Caulker we jumped on a little boat, went out into the middle of the sea, strapped a tank to our back's and jumped in the water. It was Mike's first dive, so it took a second for him to become comfy in a world where you are dependent on a little mouth piece for your air supply. Wanna Wanaka?

From Milford we took our time and weaved down toward Wanaka, a town we were told is worth a stop.  It was so beyond worth it.  Wanaka is very much like Tahoe, CA where it sits on a lake that is surrounded by gorgeous mountains.  Since it was XMas we knew most things would be closed.  no problem for us, it was time for a deserved day by the lake.  The weather gods have LOVED us since Fiji, so the sun was ready to play. The best restaurants are actually just sitting right next to the van.  Barefoot makes it all taste better (thanks, Bourdain)  A note about Freedom Camping: It can lead to so many fun, exciting, nerve wracking situations.  For example, our night outside of Wanaka it was getting a bit late and we just weren't ready to commit to any of the normal rest stops or Holiday parks.  We want the PERFECT spot.  So we pulled off on a tiny road that turned out to be nothing, but a van was nestled into the trees and its driv...
